Ben-Gvir renews his threats to demolish tomb of Sheikh Izz ad-Din al-Qassam

WEST BANK, Dec. 11 (YPA) – The Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, continued his provocative and inciting tours inside Arab towns and against Islamic holy sites, as part of what is seen as a political campaign to garner votes through field escalation and extremist rhetoric.

These movements have recently intensified, with the accompanying Israeli occupation police forces storming Al-Qassam Cemetery (located on the ruins of the displaced Al-Sheikh village near Haifa), with direct backing from Ben-Gvir and the participation of Knesset member Yitzhak Kroizer. The raid was carried out to remove a tent erected near the shrine of Sheikh Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, along with banners and cameras.

During the raid, Ben-Gvir made a series of inciting statements, declaring: “The party is over… The banner and the tent have been removed. We also hope the grave will be removed, because there is no place in the State of Israel for displays of incitement… Terrorism must be cut off at its roots, and this tent and this grave must be demolished.”
