Senior Sanaa military official calls on coalition-backed armed factions in Marib to return homeland

SANAA, Dec. 04 (YPA) – Adviser of the Sanaa-based Ministry of defense, Brigadier General Mohammed al-Sharif, called on the armed factions belonging to the formations associated with the military coalition on Yemen, primarily the Islah party factions, to return to the homeland and engage in the defense of Yemeni sovereignty.

In a special statement to Yemen Press Agency, Al-Sharif affirmed that the armed forces in Sanaa renewed their call to those who are still among the coalition-backed forces in Marib province to respond to the call that Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi made two years ago to return to the national row to confront hostile plans against Yemen.

The military official pointed out that the UAE-backed armed factions, after tightening their influence on oil and gas sources in Hadramout province, have become looking to the resources of Marib province, considering that this calls for uniting efforts to restore the entire Yemeni territory controlled by pro-UAE factions.

Al-Sharif clarified that the conflicts witnessed in the provinces of Hadramout and Mahra between Saudi-UAE-backed factions come within broader contexts aimed at tearing Yemen apart through internal conflicts that serve external agendas.

He explained that the Sanaa forces believed that these developments have come within the framework of previous hostile statements made by officials in the Israeli occupation entity and the United States over the past two years, in the context of what he described as attempts to pressure to prevent Sanaa from supporting the Palestinian people.

Al-Sharif warned against any steps affecting Yemen’s security and stability, directing his message to Saudi Arabia and the UAE not to engage in internal conflicts or feed them in response to American, British and Israeli pressures, stressing that Yemen has become a regional military force to be reckoned with.

He pointed out that the failure of the US forces in the Red Sea battle and the failure of the Israeli occupation to undermine the support of Sanaa forces to the Gaza Strip, was what prompted the enemies to move their regional tools and local mercenaries to damage Yemen, its wealth and national sovereignty.

The military official’s call came after the control of armed factions loyal to the UAE over the governorates of Hadramout and Mahra, and the expulsion of factions affiliated to the Saudi-funded Islah Party from the provinces of Hadramout and Mahra in eastern Yemen.
