SANAA, Sept. 05 (YPA) – Yemen’s Sanaa-based Shura Council called on the chairman and members of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World, to adopt a unified Islamic position to confront Israeli violations and schemes targeting the Islamic Ummah’s holy sites and fundamental values.
In messages addressed to Association Chairman Mohamed Ould Er-Rachid and its members, the council chairman Mohammed Hussein Al-Aidarous, expressed Yemen’s condemnation of conspiracies and contempt for Islamic holy sites and symbols.
He pointed to documents linked to Israeli-born Jeffrey Epstein that revealed the presentation of the covering of the Holy Kaaba as a gift for use in Israeli rituals and activities that violate its sanctity.
Al-Aidarous described the alleged act as an affront to the sentiments of more than two billion Muslims, calling for an Islamic position that goes beyond statements to institutional and legal measures to hold those involved accountable.
He also called on the Association to form an independent committee to investigate the reported incidents and announce its findings, and to place the protection of Islamic holy sites on the agenda of Arab and Islamic parliamentary events.
