BELFAST, Nov. 24 (YPA) – Activists in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, organized a protest in Victoria Square calling for a boycott of the Israeli occupation and companies supporting it, as part of a growing solidarity campaign with Palestine.
These actions follow previous events in which thousands of demonstrators participated in Belfast, demanding a halt to dealings with companies linked to the occupation.
During the protests, participants called for a boycott of Israeli products, including those of the Israeli pharmaceutical company Teva, major chains such as Starbucks, as well as Barclays Bank, the insurance company AXA, and Leonardo hotels.
It is worth noting that the wave of protests calling for a boycott has spread to other Irish cities, such as Dublin, Cork, and Galway, where protesters previously demonstrated in front of the US Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responding to a call from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, which is working to expand the boycott.
Campaign leaders also called on the public to boycott the American company Caterpillar, the manufacturer of excavators used by the occupation army in demolition operations, stressing the importance of workers in various sectors refraining from dealing with products and services associated with Israel.
