LONDON, Nov. 11 (YPA) – The streets of Westminster in London witnessed a new symbolic campaign titled “Release the Palestinian Prisoners,” where the area was flooded with striking red signs aimed at drawing the attention of the British and international public to the issue of Palestinian detainees.
Organizers chose the color red to be a unified global symbol expressing Palestinian blood and the suffering of detainees in the Israeli occupation prisons, affirming that the color represents both pain and steadfastness.
The campaign reminds the world that there are approximately 9,100 Palestinian detainees (whom the campaign refers to as “hostages”), including 400 children, 53 women, and 3,544 administrative detainees held without trial.
The initiative’s first phase focused on doctors, women, and children to highlight the shocking humanitarian suffering.
The campaign is scheduled to expand to include hanging red ribbons and informational plaques in other central locations, and producing visual content aimed at transforming the movement into an influential global initiative.
