TEHRAN, Nov. 02 (YPA) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told state media on Sunday that Tehran would rebuild its nuclear facilities “with greater strength,” adding that the Islamic Republic was not seeking nuclear weapons.
U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that he would order new attacks on Iranian nuclear sites if Tehran tried to restart facilities bombed by the United States in June.
Pezeshkian made the remarks during a visit to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, where he met with top officials in his country’s nuclear sector.
“Destroying buildings and factories will not cause us a problem; we will rebuild with greater strength,” the Iranian president told state media.
Last June, the United States launched strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities that Washington says are part of a program aimed at developing nuclear weapons. Tehran insists its nuclear program is for purely civilian purposes.
“The goal of all this is to solve the people’s problems, combat diseases, and maintain people’s health,” Pezeshkian said, referring to Iran’s nuclear activities.
