AUCKLAND, 02 (YPA) – A massive protest march was held on Sunday in Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city calling on their government to impose sanctions on the Israeli occupation.
This coincided with the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration and the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip.
In the march, hundreds of demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and carried banners demanding an end to the crimes in Gaza and New Zealand’s recognition of the State of Palestine.
Neil Scott, Secretary General of the Palestine Solidarity Network, stated that the genocide in Gaza has been continued, while the occupation army and settlers have persisted in their crimes in the West Bank despite the ceasefire agreement.
“Israel sought to displace Palestinians to Egypt, and when that failed, it resorted to starving them to death,” he added. “Our government’s silence on these atrocities is a disgrace.”
