Israeli occupation continues to violate ceasefire in Gaza Strip

GAZA, Nov. 02 (YPA) -The Israeli occupation army carried out extensive demolitions of Palestinian homes in Gaza City and Khan Younis on Sunday, despite the ongoing ceasefire agreement.

According to Palestinian sources, occupation troops reportedly blew up Palestinian homes in Rafah and Khan Younis in the south and opened fire near Jabalia in the north.

Field reports said Rafah came under intense artillery and air bombardment, destroying several houses and causing extensive damage.

Despite the truce holding, Israeli occupation has maintained a tight blockade on the Gaza Strip.

Artillery shelling also hit areas in the eastern Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza, damaging civilian property and triggering new waves of displacement as residents fled the violence.

The escalation comes amid ongoing tensions and a worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, where families face severe shortages of essential supplies including food, water, and fuel, while ongoing bombardments have forced many to flee their homes, stretching humanitarian organizations to their limits.

Sources say the latest military escalation has been accompanied by intense Israeli air activity and the use of heavy munitions. There are growing concerns that operations could expand into central and southern Gaza, further endangering civilians and critical infrastructure.

According to local reports, the current military escalation includes heavy Israeli air presence and the use of powerful munitions. Officials have warned that the operations could widen to central and southern parts of the strip, increasing risks to civilians and vital infrastructure

Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 11 last month, 226 Palestinians have been killed and 594 wounded. Rescue teams have also recovered 499 bodies from the rubble, and 30 bodies have been returned by Israeli authorities, bringing the total number of recovered bodies to 225.
