Israeli occupation forces arrest five Palestinians, including journalist, former prisoner, in West Bank raids
WEST BANK, Oct. 30 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces arrested five Palestinian men at dawn on Thursday, including a former prisoner and a journalist, during a wide-scale raid across several areas of the occupied West Bank.
According to local sources, the occupation forces re-arrested former prisoner Ahmad al-Saifi after storming and searching his family home in the town of Birzeit, north of Ramallah, just one day before his scheduled wedding.
Al-Saifi had been released only a few months ago as part of a prisoner exchange deal with the Palestinian resistance, after spending 16 consecutive years in Israeli prisons.
The sources added that the occupation forces arrested another young man after raiding his family home in Kafr Ein, northwest of Ramallah.
In Hebron, southern West Bank, Israeli occupation forces arrested journalist Musab Qafisheh after raiding his home, and detained two more Palestinians in the nearby town of al-Shuyukh, where they also confiscated two vehicles during the operation.
At dawn, the occupation forces also raided the city of Qalqilya and several neighborhoods and camps in Nablus, searching homes and residential buildings without reporting arrests.
Local sources said occupation troops fired live bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas at young Palestinians during confrontations near the Academy area in Rafidia, west of Nablus.
One Palestinian youth was reportedly injured by live fire during the raid near An-Najah National University and Beit Wazan in Nablus.
Additionally, the occupation army stormed the home of the family of the Kedumim operation attacker early Thursday in Baqa al-Hatab, east of Qalqilya.
