LEBANON, Aug. 09 (YPA) – Three Lebanese soldiers were injured on Saturday, one moderately, while working to defuse unexploded ordnance in the town of Zawtar al-Gharbiya in the Nabatieh district, the Lebanese Army announced.
The incident occurred alongside reported Israeli occupation military operations in southern Lebanon. Israeli artillery shelled the town of Al-Mansouri, south of Tyre, with several projectiles. Israeli occupation forces also advanced into the northern outskirts of Meiss el-Jabal, specifically in the Wadi al-Jamal area, accompanied by artillery fire targeting a house and heavy machine-gun fire across the sector.
Earlier on Saturday morning, Israeli forces’ machine-gun fire was directed toward the Ali al-Tahir heights, according to local news reports. This followed an explosion conducted by Israeli forces at midnight Friday–Saturday in Meiss el-Jabal.
These incidents take place amid ongoing Israeli cross-border hostilities in southern Lebanon, which have included shelling, drone strikes, house demolitions, and land clearing, despite the framework agreement and direct talks involving Lebanese and Israeli occupation officials.
