BEIRUT, Oct. 24 (YPA) – European sources have warned that a large-scale Israeli military operation inside Lebanese territory could be “a matter of time,” amid rising tensions on the northern front and intensified airstrikes against Hezbollah positions in the Bekaa Valley.
Media sources cited European officials saying that “Israel” conducted a series of air raids targeting Hezbollah in the Bekaa region over the past two days. Hezbollah, in turn, has stated that it will respond directly to any Israeli ground incursion.
Israeli assessments indicate that Hezbollah has significantly strengthened its military and defensive capabilities since the recent clashes on the northern border in 2024, making any potential military operation more complex and costly.
According to Lebanese sources, the atmosphere in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley is increasingly tense, with both sides preparing on the ground. Observers have warned that the region stands on the brink of a major escalation which could open a new front as the war in the Gaza Strip continues.
