Iran attacks IAEA director’s remarks on its Nuclear Program

TEHRAN, Oct. 23 (YPA) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, expressed his country’s dissatisfaction with statements by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi, in which he indicated that Tehran may possess enough enriched uranium to manufacture “ten nuclear bombs,” warning against “repeating a failed experiment.”

In statements to ISNA, Araghchi called on the IAEA to maintain “professional neutrality” and avoid politicization or “media threats”.

He emphasized that Iran was proceeding with its “peaceful” nuclear program in accordance with international regulations.

This escalation came in response to Grossi’s statement to a Swiss newspaper that the Israeli and American attacks did not destroy Iran’s nuclear technology and that its centrifuges are rebuildable.

Grossi noted that Iran retains 400 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium, despite his assertion that there was no evidence that Tehran may intend to build a nuclear bomb.

Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the Iranian parliament’s National Security Committee, also attacked Grossi’s remarks, accusing those who “polluted science with politics” of being unqualified to speak about diplomacy.
