Zionist settlers attack Al-Mughayyir village in Ramallah, Israeli occupation forces arrest two young men
RAMALLAH, Aug. 10 (YPA) – Zionist Settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, attacked Al-Mughayyir village northeast of Ramallah on Sunday evening, targeting farmers in the eastern plain area before local residents confronted them.
Amin Abu Alia, head of the Al-Mughayyir village council, said that settlers attacked farmers in the area, while residents confronted them, with no injuries reported.
He added that Israeli occupation forces raided the village to provide protection for the settlers, arrested two young men, Alaa and Hani Abu Alia, and fired tear gas, with no injuries reported.
Al-Mughayyir village and the surrounding villages and towns northeast of Ramallah have been subjected to repeated attacks by settlers, alongside continued raids by Israeli occupation forces.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli occupation forces and settlers carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their land and property during July. Israeli occupation forces carried out 1,458 attacks, while settlers carried out 798 attacks.
The commission said the attacks were concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, with 260 attacks, followed by Nablus with 247, Jenin with 190, Bethlehem with 185, and Hebron with 170.
The commission said the figures demonstrate, according to its assessment, clear coordination between military force and settler attacks, noting that Israeli occupation forces provide protection and support that allow the attacks to continue and turn their outcomes into ongoing realities on the ground.
