WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 (YPA) – US officials announced the lifting of a major restriction on Ukraine’s use of certain long-range missiles supplied by Western countries.
The Wall Street Journal reported, citing informed sources, that the Trump administration lifted a significant restriction on Ukraine’s use of certain long-range missiles provided by Western allies.
According to the newspaper, this decision allowed Kyiv to expand the scope of its attacks against targets inside Russian territory.
The newspaper indicated that this step came after the authority to support these types of attacks was transferred from US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Alexus Grynkiewicz.
According to the newspaper’s sources, the decision was made before the meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, last week, but the media only recently learned of it.
