Salafist elements kidnap spokesman of Al-Subaiha tribes in Aden

ADEN, Oct. 21 (YPA) – Extremist Salafist elements kidnapped the so-called official spokesman for Al-Subaiha tribes, Ahmed Atef Al-Subaihi, in the city of Aden, which is under coalition control, and took him to an unknown destination.

Informed sources reported that Al-Subaihi was kidnapped yesterday, after leaving the headquarters of the Saudi-funded “Homeland Shield” factions in the Buraiqa area of Aden.

The sources reported that the kidnappers were wearing masks and used a military vehicle and a civilian car. They took Al-Subaihi to an unknown location, noting that his fate remains unknown.

According to the circulating information, the sources indicated that the kidnapping came after a media campaign targeting Al-Subaihi, led by the spokesman for the “security campaign” in Subaiha tribes, Salafist Asaad Al-Yousfi, amid tensions between the Salafist factions funded by Saudi Arabia and the UAE in the Al-Mudharaba and Ras Al-Ara coastal areas west of Lahj.

For their part, the Subaiha tribes considered the kidnapping of their spokesman a “flagrant violation and a serious assault on the tribal and military symbols of the region.”

The tribes demanded the coalition-backed authorities in Aden to intervene immediately to reveal the whereabouts of Al-Subaihi, and warned of the repercussions of the continuation of this enforced disappearance.
