BEIRUT, Oct. 11 (YPA) – The Lebanese General Directorate of General Security (GDGS) announced on Friday evening the dismantling of a spy network operating for the benefit of “Israel.”
The network was reportedly planning to carry out terrorist acts, including bombings and assassinations, on Lebanese territory.
A statement from the directorate confirmed the arrest of several network members, noting that preliminary investigations indicated their responsibility for carrying out previous assassinations targeting partisan officials within the Islamic Group (Al-Jama’a Al-Islamiyya)
Following a precise operational tracking process, security forces, with assistance from the Lebanese army, conducted raids in several areas, resulting in the seizure of vehicles and equipment and the arrest of four involved individuals—three Lebanese and one Palestinian.
The General Security clarified that further details of the case will be revealed later after the ongoing investigations are completed.
