Hamas reveals Israeli occupation’s refusal to release “Marwan Barghouti”, others

GAZA, Oct. 10 (YPA) – The leader in Hamas movement, Mousa Abu Marzouk, stated on Friday that the movement is working with mediators to overcome obstacles and secure the release of Palestinian leaders detained in Israeli prisons.

Al-Jazeera TV Channel quoted Abu Marzouk as saying that “Marwan Barghouti, Ahmad Sa’adat, and Abbas al-Sayyid are among the most prominent Palestinian leaders whom the Israeli occupation refuses to  release.”

According to Abu Marzouk, the occupation has withdrawn to the “yellow line” but still controls 53% of the Gaza Strip’s area.

He emphasized that in the future, the movement will not accept the continued presence of the occupation in the positions it currently controls.

Abu Marzouk also mentioned that the continued presence of the occupation along the Philadelphi Corridor isolates the Gaza Strip from its Arab and Egyptian depth.
