UAE terminates authority of one of most prominent “counter-terrorism” leaders in Aden

DHALEA, Oct. 07 (YPA) – The Prosecution and Appeals Court in Al Dhalea, controlled by the Transitional Council factions, summoned one of the most prominent aides to the commander of the so-called Counter-Terrorism Forces, on charges of his involvement in assassinations.

Human rights activists confirmed that the summons was for the leader Qasim Muhammad Abdullah al-Thawbani, who is considered one of the former aides to the commander of the UAE-funded Counter-Terrorism Forces, Shalal Shayea, who is accused of committing numerous assassinations and torture in prisons and several criminal cases.

They explained that the prosecution warned al-Thawbani of being tried in absentia if he did not appear within a month of the publication of the notice, which came with the green light to terminate al-Thawbani’s duties.

This summons has raised widespread questions in the southern street, as some believe this step is part of a common approach to terminate the services of many leaders once they have completed specific tasks assigned to them by Emirati intelligence.

These accusations indicate that the goal of implicating them in various cases is to ultimately get rid of them to avoid any subsequent consequences or responsibility, so that they become mere tools that have been used and whose validity has expired.
