OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Sept. 17 (YPA) – The United Nations Office of Human Rights in occupied Palestine reported that at least 75 Palestinian detainees have died in Israeli occupation prisons since October 7, 2023.
The office documented cases of torture against several Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails, in a clear violation of international laws and humanitarian standards.
The UN affirmed the continued risks to the lives of Palestinian prisoners, calling on the occupation authorities to fulfill their responsibilities toward the detainees and ensure their basic rights, including protection from torture and inhumane treatment.
This statistic comes amid escalating tensions in the occupied Palestinian territories, with ongoing Israeli violations against civilians and prisoners alike.
