GAZA, Aug. 13 (YPA) – Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, announced that it had carried out a joint bombing operation last Monday with the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), targeting a gathering of Israeli soldiers and vehicles in the Al-Satar Al-Gharbi area north of Khan Yunis, using several heavy mortar shells.
In a brief statement, the Brigades confirmed that the bombing came “in response to the occupation’s ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip,” noting that the operation resulted in direct casualties among the targeted Israeli occupation forces, without providing additional details about the losses.
The Al-Satar Al-Gharbi axis in Khan Yunis has been witnessing violent confrontations and ongoing clashes for weeks between the Palestinian resistance and the occupation forces, which are attempting to advance into the area, amid intense Israeli artillery and air bombardment, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties and widespread destruction of infrastructure.
This operation comes amidst the escalation of joint operations between the resistance factions, as they previously announced the implementation of simultaneous attacks on “Israeli” sites and gatherings in various combat axes in the southern Gaza Strip in an attempt to obstruct the advance of the occupation forces and inflict losses among their ranks.
