ADEN, Aug. 09 (YPA) – The Judges’ Club, affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), in cooperation with the General Union of Administrative Employees, called for a major protest tomorrow, Sunday, starting in front of the Aden Court of Appeal and heading toward Ma’ashiq Palace, the headquarters of the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Aden.
The demonstration, which includes the provinces of Aden, Lahj, Dhalea, and Abyan, aims to restore judges’ rights and put an end to what they described as “the systematic policy of repression and intimidation by the Judicial Council.”
This call came just days after a number of judges were assaulted last Wednesday during a protest in front of the Judicial Council, resulting in injuries to some.
The Judges’ Club urged all members of the judiciary in the four provinces to participate widely in this demonstration.
