ABU DHABI, Aug. 09 (YPA) – The United States and Britain have urged their citizens to avoid areas associated with the Jewish and Israeli communities in the UAE, following information indicating potential threats.
In this regard, the US Embassy in the UAE addressed its citizens yesterday, Friday, via a statement that read, “The US diplomatic mission in the UAE has been informed of information indicating potential threats against the Jewish and Israeli communities, and we urge US citizens to avoid areas associated with these communities, including places of worship.”
Concurrently with the US warning, the British Foreign Office issued a similar warning of the potential targeting of “sites associated with Jews or Israelis” in the UAE. London indicated that “increased regional tensions could make these sites potential targets for terrorist attacks.”
The UAE government has not issued a direct official comment on the foreign security warnings.
It is worth noting that in November 2024, an Israeli-Moldovan murdered Rabbi Zvi Kogan in the UAE. An Abu Dhabi court sentenced three Uzbek nationals to death and another to life imprisonment for the crime.
The UAE authorities did not reveal the motives for the crime, which occurred amid the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and sparked widespread anger in many Islamic countries.
