OCCUPIED PALESTINE, July 17 (YPA) – Israeli daily “Yedioth Ahronoth” reported Thursday that concern is growing within Israel’s military and political leadership following a series of suicides among Zionist soldiers in recent days.
According to military analyst Yoav Zitun, the army’s Medical Corps convened a special session to address the issue after several soldiers took their own lives.
In response, the occupation military is expected to temporarily suspend routine activities to allow time for commanders to hold one-on-one conversations with troops and intensify monitoring for signs of psychological distress.
Zitun noted that an increasing number of combat soldiers are reporting mental health struggles linked to ongoing fighting, with some experiencing what experts describe as “identity injuries”—a form of trauma involving a loss of self or sense of purpose.
According to the paper, that the occupation army expects a rise in post-traumatic stress symptoms among its troops as military operations in the Gaza Strip near their end.
