Sanaa takes ‘Israel’ by surprise… a failed offensive and bewildering intelligence challenges

SANAA, July 08  (YPA) -In the latest Zionist aggression on Yemen, Israeli occupation aircraft launched a series of raids last Sunday night on the ports of Hodeida governorate. This operation dubbed “Black Flag”, and it was targeting several Yemeni governorates, according to a statement by a military advisor to the Ministry of Defense in Sanaa. This aggression was repelled by the Yemeni air defenses for the first time.

At the same time, Brigadier General Yahya Sarie, the official spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces in Sanaa, announced that the Yemeni air defenses effectively confronted the “Israeli” aggression and forced a large part of its formations to leave, with a large barrage of locally made surface-to-air missiles, which caused great confusion among enemy pilots and their operations rooms.

On the other hand, the Israeli occupation army announced that its air force had launched airstrikes on Hodeida, after issuing evacuation orders for the various ports in Hodeida, Yemen, including the Port of Hodeida, Ras Issa, and Salif. The occupation also demanded forced evacuation of the electricity plant in Hodeida.

These sites have been hit multiple times in previous attacks. This confirms that the occupation’s objectives have not changed since the first strike on Yemen, it continues to rely on economic shock as a tactic, amid a severe lack of intelligence on the ground.

The Israeli intelligence failure has created contradictory assessments— between an enemy claiming it has achieved its objectives and an opponent mocking such claims, as strikes persistently target the same facilities repeatedly.

No Penetration

Despite the significant geographical distance between Sanaa and Tel Aviv – which requires specialized logistical capabilities – “Israel” has failed to achieve any security breach—neither at the leadership level nor in the military infrastructure. This has made retaliatory measures against Yemen particularly challenging, with nearly nonexistent options available

This has made retaliatory measures against Yemen particularly challenging, with nearly nonexistent options available.”

The Yemeni armed forces have demonstrated remarkable adaptability, effectively neutralizing what were intended as precision strikes. Israel’s counterstrategy, which relies heavily on Mossad’s human intelligence networks and technical surveillance, has proven insufficient to accurately assess Sanaa’s military capabilities.

Commenting on the Israeli response, the Hebrew-language newspaper Maariv admitted in a report that since October 2023, “Israel” has failed to intercept missiles and drones launched by Sanaa’s forces.

The paper added: “We must face reality and openly admit that “Israel” has failed to confront the Houthi challenge from Yemen and has woken up far too late to the threat emerging from the east.”

It assessed that ‘the Israeli military’ is struggling to counter the Yemeni threat both defensively and offensively, noting that the Houthis have inflicted significant damage on Israel’s economy.

Swift Response

In a swift response underscoring this failure, Sanaa launched a hypersonic missile toward Israeli-occupied territory. Hebrew media reported that the Yemeni missile reached its target without being intercepted by Israel’s air defenses.

Earlier on Monday,  Mahdi Mohammed Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa, confirmed that ” Yemen is a field for final blows, not a stage for showmanship.”

He stressed that ” no Zionist aggression, regardless of its scale or impact, will deter the Yemeni people from supporting Gaza .”

Al-Mashat added, “When it comes to just causes and rightful decisions, the outcomes—no matter how great do not matter.”

This outcome confirms that Sanaa has largely succeeded in breaking the equation of hegemony that “Israel” backed by Washington has sought to impose on the region.
