Abu Dhabi renews its interest in purchasing Israeli “Iron Beam”

SANAA, June 14 (YPA) – Abu Dhabi has renewed its interest in purchasing the Israeli laser weapon system known as “Iron Beam,” according to the American intelligence website Tactical Report.

This comes amid growing Abu Dhabi’s relationship with the Israeli occupation amid daily war crimes in the Gaza Strip since 2023.

The Emirati interest in this generation of directed-energy air defenses highlights Abu Dhabi’s security concerns about being attacked by drones, mortar shells, and short-range rockets that are difficult to detect by radar, and that more protection is needed to thwart such attacks.

The Tactical Report website discussed the status of talks between Abu Dhabi and the Israeli defense company Rafael, whereas a draft agreement was reached between the two parties, but obstacles hinder the completion of the deal.

The agreement aims to enhance defense cooperation between Abu Dhabi and the Israeli occupation, with a focus on developing a drone system and missile threats, whereas Abu Dhabi will spend money to develop the Zionist system.
