Sanaa welcomes efforts to reopen road linking Abyan, Bayda

SANAA, June 13 (YPA) – The Sanaa-appointed governor of Abyan province, Saleh al-Junaidi, affirmed on Thursday his support for efforts to respond to the local authority’s initiative to reopen the “Aqabat Tharah” road, linking Abyan and Bayda provinces.

Al-Junaidi explained that Sanaa reopened the road a year ago, with the participation of the military committee, to alleviate the suffering of the residents of Lawdar and Mukayras districts. He indicated that the leadership in Sanaa is responsive to any steps that serve the community and facilitate the movement of citizens.

The governor confirmed that there are no obstacles to the resumption of traffic on the road, and that the local authority is ready to coordinate with mediators to repair the road and ensure safe and sustainable traffic.

He also praised the efforts of the tribes in this regard and called on the other party to deal seriously and responsibly with citizens’ demands to alleviate their suffering.
