Sanaa’s missiles redraw deterrence map in Arab-Israeli conflict

SANAA, June 06 (YPA) – The Arab-Israeli conflict is witnessing a significant shift as missile attacks launched by Sanaa forces toward deep Israeli occupation entity intensify, signaling a noteworthy development in the deterrence dynamics imposed by multiple fronts of the Axis of Resistance.

On Thursday evening, Sanaa forces announced the launch of a hypersonic missile named “Palestine 2,” targeting Lod Airport near occupied Jaffa, also known as Tel Aviv. Sanaa described this attack as a direct response to the starvation policies in Gaza and the aggression on Beirut’s southern suburb by Israeli occupation forces.

This attack was not merely symbolic but actually disrupted air traffic and forced millions of Zionist settlers to flee from the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards to shelters.

Furthermore, the Yemeni strike carried significant psychological and propaganda implications. The sirens were followed by widespread scenes of panic in occupied Quds (Jerusalem), prompting settlers to abandon the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, a moment widely circulated by activists.

Many saw the strike as a direct message that Jerusalem is now within reach of the new deterrence measures.

These developments were accompanied by a state of high alert in Israeli air defense systems, following the detection of another missile launched from Yemeni territory. This escalation underscores the expansion of the conflict and the increased military pressure on the Israeli security apparatus, especially as its forces are engaged in a prolonged war of attrition in Gaza and an overt aggression against southern Beirut.

In this context, statements by Khalil Al-Hayya, a senior Hamas leader in Gaza, added a political and popular dimension to Yemen’s role. “We salute our sincere brothers in Yemen who continue to launch missiles despite the challenges they face,” he said.

This statement reflects clear political gratitude and practical appreciation from Gaza for Yemen’s military support, which breaks isolation and reaffirms the unity of struggle against occupation.

A message that transcends geography

Yemen’s messages go beyond a military response, aiming to redirect the conflict and cement the idea that the battle with the occupation is a nation’s battle, not a faction’s battle. They also seek to undermine the Zionist narrative of “security control” and pose a constant challenge to security and military institutions in the face of multiple, simultaneous threats, despite their geographical dispersion.

With the development of these strikes, particularly the use of hypersonic missiles and their repetition at precise moments, Yemen has become an influential player in the regional deterrence equation, making its exclusion from the confrontation impossible.
