Yemeni Parliament calls on Riyadh to opt for peace, reaffirms full mandate for deterrent options

SANAA, Aug. 02 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based House of Representatives on Sunday issued a stern message to the Saudi regime, calling on it to reassess its calculations, immediately halt its aggressive policies, and earnestly move toward peace by fulfilling all corresponding obligations.

The Parliament stressed that reaching an understanding with Yemen represents the safest path to achieving regional security, rather than begging for international alliances that have proven to be a failure.

In a statement issued by the assembly, the Parliament expressed astonishment at the Saudi regime’s attempts to evade responsibility for its ongoing aggression and blockade—in place since March 26, 2015—and to portray itself as a “neutral mediator.” The statement cited what it described as the coalition’s record of war crimes and the destruction of vital infrastructure and living conditions in Yemen.

Furthermore, the House of Representatives reaffirmed its full support for the strategic directives set forth by Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, granting complete authorization to take all military, political, economic, and security deterrent measures. Foremost among these is enforcing the equation of “blockade-for-blockade, and comprehensive confrontation for comprehensive escalation” until the aggression stops and the siege is lifted.

The Parliament also voiced its strong condemnation and denunciation of the Saudi regime’s support for US strikes on the Republic of Iraq, describing it as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of an independent Arab state and a blatant breach of international charters.
