Sanaa’s air blockade suffocates “Israel”

SANAA, June 01 (YPA) – The air traffic crisis to and from the Israeli entity has escalated sharply, with major airlines continuing to suspend operations days after a Yemeni ballistic missile struck Ben Gurion Airport.

This situation has led to a significant increase in airfare prices, sparking widespread discontent among Israelis.

The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reports that airfare prices for flights to and from Israel have skyrocketed, while the Zionist newspaper Maariv asserts that purchasing tickets abroad this summer has become prohibitively expensive and that the method of sale significantly increases the cost.

Maariv highlights the public discontent with these high prices, noting that “the cries of Israelis are not reaching the ears of Knesset members and ministers, as they travel business class.”

Yoel Zakai, director of the Israeli Civil Aviation Authority, revealed a sharp decline in the number of airlines operating in Israel, dropping from 41 to 22 since the missile strike on Ben Gurion Airport.

Zakai noted that the Israeli Civil Aviation Authority had sent international airlines the results of the Israeli Air Force’s investigation into the incident, describing the move as “unprecedented” and aimed at restoring confidence and reopening air routes to Israeli entity.

These developments come amid growing Israeli frustration over the continued “Sanaa siege” of the Israeli occupation’s airports.

International airlines continue to cancel flights to the Zionist entity, following Sanaa’s decision to impose what it called a “comprehensive air blockade” on the occupation’s airports in response to its expanding operations in Gaza.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that foreign airlines continue to cancel their flights to “Israel” despite “attempts to exert political pressure on them,” noting that “the crisis of canceling foreign flights appears unlikely to be resolved anytime soon.”

In this context, Israeli Channel 12 reported that the Spanish airline Iberia Express has canceled all its flights to and from Tel Aviv until June 30. Germany also announced the suspension of five airlines operating to Ben Gurion Airport “for fear of Sanaa strikes.”

This comes after Sanaa warned airlines against continuing flights to Israeli airports, as it seeks to impose a “comprehensive blockade” on Israeli air traffic.

Earlier, 20 international airlines had previously announced the cancellation of flights to the Zionist entity, following the Yemeni bombing of Ben Gurion Airport and the Sanaa forces’ decision to impose a “comprehensive air blockade” on Israeli airports.
