Yemen blockade strangles Ben Gurion Airport, with Israeli tourism bleeding

SANAA, May 29 (YPA) – The repercussions of the air blockade imposed by Sanaa forces on Lod International Airport, known as Ben Gurion, in the depth of the Israeli occupation entity, have been continued, with clear signs of a gradual paralysis in the aviation and tourism sectors emerging and unprecedented increasing in ticket prices amid growing concern in Israeli economic circles.

According to a report posted by the Hebrew economic newspaper Calcalist, the prices of flights on El Al Airlines have seen significant escalations, with Israeli passengers forced to pay exorbitant sums to return to the occupied entity as a result of numerous foreign airlines canceling their flights to the airport.

The report explained that international airlines are regularly canceling flights to the airport, either for security reasons or based on internal recommendations to avoid flying in the airspace surrounding occupied Palestine. This created a clear disruption to air traffic, especially with repeated threats by the armed forces to expand their targeting of aircraft linked to the occupation.

The newspaper noted that this situation was negatively impacting multiple sectors, especially tourism, which has been suffering for months from a near-total collapse in the flow of foreign visitors. This has also had a direct impact on foreign trade, which relies on air links to international markets.

On the other hand, economic experts believed the air blockade has become one of the most significant challenges facing the Israeli economy, which has been suffering successive blows since the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip began. Furthermore, the instability in air traffic threatens further losses for local airlines and the tourism sector.

Meanwhile, the occupation government has attempted to downplay the impact of the crisis, Hebrew reports unanimously agreed that the pressure coming from the Red Sea front and extending into the airspace of occupied Jaffa (known as Tel Aviv) has become a direct strategic threat, difficult to ignore or contain without a heavy political and military price.
