Stifling ice crisis doubles suffering of citizens in Lahj

LAHJ, May 25 (YPA) – Lahj Governorate, which is under the control of UAE-backed factions, has witnessed a severe crisis in the provision of ice blocks due to the continuous power outages.

This comes as the coalition-affiliated government continues to fail to provide fuel to the stations for the past months.

The lack of ice has revealed the great suffering among citizens, who rely on it for drinking water to alleviate the harsh heat, while living conditions continue to deteriorate significantly.

Local sources in the governorate reported that an ice factory pledged to provide ice to the city of Al-Hawtah, the governorate capital, and Tuban district at a reduced price following the outbreak of night protests in Al-Hawtah, which required the intervention of the Transitional Council factions.

They indicated that the complete power outage in Lahj and other southern cities due to the lack of fuel for the stations has increased the suffering of citizens, who are no longer able to confront the blazing summer heat and the crises of living that burden them due to the high prices resulting from the economic collapse.

The coalition countries and their affiliated government left the people of the southern governorates drowning in suffering, with the continued deterioration of services and the significant decline of the currency, without any noteworthy solutions, including the Prime Minister, Salem bin Braik, remaining in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, since his appointment at the beginning of this month.
