Student uprising erupts against Saudi-backed factions in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Sept. 03 (YPA) – A widespread student uprising has erupted against Saudi-backed Emergency factions in Al-Khasha’a area of Wadi Al-Ain district of Hadramout province, following the abduction of a school principal.

Local sources in the area reported that members of the Emergency factions abducted school principal Saleh Al-Aqil on Tuesday, for raising the separatist flag of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and took him to a prison operated by the factions.

They added that students at the school confronted military vehicles belonging to the Emergency factions with stones in protest against Al-Aqil’s abduction, amid widespread local anger and resentment.

The incident follows the abduction on Monday of Ahmed Abdi, head of the Southern Transitional Council in Al-Tawahi area of Aden, by Saudi-backed forces, reportedly over raising the separatist flag.

Meanwhile, Rashad Al-Alimi, head of the Saudi-backed Presidential Leadership Council, issued directives on Monday banning the raising of STC’s flags and ordering action against anyone who raises the council’s flags or symbols.
