UNRWA: The number of trucks that entered is very few and Gaza needs 600 trucks per day

GAZA, May 22 (YPA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said, on Thursday, that the number of trucks entering Gaza is very few, especially as the population faces the specter of famine.

In a brief statement, it explained that the situation in Gaza requires the entry of at least 600 aid trucks daily.

The government media office confirmed that 87 trucks carrying various types of aid entered the Gaza Strip, allocated to a number of international and civil society organizations, as part of efforts to distribute them to the Palestinian people to meet part of their urgent humanitarian needs.

The entry of flour trucks comes after a strict closure of the crossings for 11 weeks, during which Israel prevented the entry of humanitarian aid, including flour and fuel.

This has exacerbated the humanitarian and health conditions and created a famine that has led to the death of dozens of children due to malnutrition, which makes the entry of this number of trucks difficult to resolve the current crisis.
