GAZA, May 18 (YPA) – Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is worsening dramatically more than two months after the ceasefire collapsed, noting that the population is living in conditions resembling “hellish.”
In a statement issued today, the organization confirmed that no food, fuel, or essential humanitarian supplies have been allowed into the Gaza Strip since March 2, warning that the continued blockade is deepening the humanitarian catastrophe facing civilians.
MSF called on the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General to exert real pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to stop what it described as the use of humanitarian aid as a weapon in the ongoing war on Gaza.
The organization stressed that preventing the delivery of life-saving supplies constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, calling for immediate and safe passage for aid to reach the beleaguered population of the Gaza Strip.
