Spanish PM: ‘Palestinian blood is bleeding before world’s eyes’

BAGHDAD, May 18 (YPA) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez embarrassed on Saturday Arab regimes by reminding them that Palestinian bleeding before everyone’s eyes with the unbearable destruction and casualties.

During his participation in the Arab Summit held in Iraq on Saturday, Sánchez said, “Palestine is bleeding before our eyes, and the world cannot turn a blind eye to what is happening.”
He called for urgent international action to end the humanitarian suffering in Gaza and the West Bank.

Sánchez affirmed that Spain would work in cooperation with Palestine to submit a draft resolution to the United Nations General Assembly demanding that the Zionist entity must halt its aggression against Gaza and allow the immediate entry of humanitarian aid.
“The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip has reached catastrophic proportions, “he noted, calling on the international community to “assume its moral and legal responsibilities to stop this tragedy.

Sánchez emphasized that Spain would continue to exert diplomatic pressure to achieve justice for the Palestinian people, recalling its previous positions in support of the two-state solution and the requirements of international law.

“These courageous humanitarian and moral stances come amid blatant Arab and international complicity, the ongoing crimes of genocide, brutal massacres, the stifling Israeli-American blockade against the people of Gaza,” he stated.

The Spanish-Palestinian proposal is being expected to spark intense debate within the halls of the United Nations, amid questions about the international community’s ability to impose its will to save civilians from a war crime that exceeds genocide and the policy of forced displacement.
