Yemeni riyal keeps declining in value against foreign currencies in Aden
SANAA, April 05 (YPA) – The city of Aden and several provinces in southern and eastern Yemen are witnessing continued instability in the exchange rate of foreign currencies against the Yemeni riyal, which continues to deteriorate.
In the latest developments, the exchange rate of the dollar in Aden today, Saturday, reached 2,360 riyals for sale and 2,346 riyals for purchase, while the exchange rate of the Saudi riyal exceeded 618 riyals for sale and 616 riyals for purchase.
Observers have warned of the repercussions of this fluctuation in exchange rates amid the sharp collapse of the currency and its direct economic impact on the lives of citizens.
Exchange rates in Sanaa
In Sanaa, exchange rates remained unchanged, thanks to financial and banking measures adopted by the Central Bank to ensure market stability.
According to a circular issued by the Central Bank of Yemen in Sanaa, a ceiling has been set for the selling prices of major currencies approved by the Foreign Exchange Unit as follows:
– The Saudi riyal against the Yemeni riyal = 140 Yemeni riyals.
– The US dollar against the Yemeni riyal = 530.50 Yemeni riyals.
– The US dollar against the Saudi riyal = 3.79 Saudi riyals.
