WARSAW, Mar. 13 (YPA) – Polish President Andrzej Duda has asked the United States to deploy nuclear weapons in his country to “deter Russia” from attacking Europe.
Duda told the Financial Times on Thursday that he discussed the issue with Keith Kellogg, the US special envoy for Ukraine and Russia.
He suggested that Washington move nuclear weapons to Polish territory to deter Russia from attacking Europe in the future. Duda believed that having nuclear weapons in his country would be safer.
“NATO’s borders moved eastward in 1999, so after 26 years, NATO’s infrastructure should move eastward as well,” he said.
The Polish president noted that Russia did not hesitate or ask anyone for permission when it moved its nuclear weapons to Belarus.
