Ma’ashiq Palace in Aden witnesses tense meeting of pro-coalition government

ADEN, Mar. 12 (YPA) – Ma’ashiq Palace, the headquarters of the Saudi-led coalition-backed government, in the city of Aden, witnessed on Tuesday a tense meeting of the government members.

According to media sources close to the coalition, an emergency meeting was held inside the palace, which included several ministers and their deputies in the government.

The meeting was described as “stormy,” with calls for the dismissal of the Islah Party-affiliated prime minister, Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, who is accused of corruption and failure to address the worsening economic crises.

The ministers accused bin Mubarak of being unable to implement the reforms required to halt the sharp deterioration in the general situation and affirmed their commitment to boycotting any future meetings he calls for, according to the sources.

The sources reported that ministers affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) did not participate in the meeting, while members of the coalition-backed “Presidential Leadership Council” proposed choosing a new prime minister to replace bin Mubarak.
