Yemen appears again as influential player in conflict with Israeli entity

SANAA, Mar. 08 (YPA) – Yemen has emerged once again as a strong actor in the face of the Israeli occupation through its firm positions and continuous support for the Palestinian people and their resistance, especially at critical moments. This began with its participation alongside the Palestinian resistance in the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle and culminated in Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi announcing his decision to give the Israeli occupation entity a four-day deadline to bring aid into the Gaza Strip.

The impact of the Yemeni support front was clear in the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle, and it is expected that the decision of Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi will be influential in the negotiations to implement the ceasefire agreement between the resistance and the Israeli occupation.

This decision may deter the occupation from imposing new conditions or negotiation mechanisms through American proposals aimed at extending the first phase of the agreement in Gaza in an attempt to release the largest possible number of Zionist prisoners without implementing the rest of the agreed-upon military and humanitarian obligations.

It is quite clear that the American support, the US President Donald Trump’s statements, and the inability of the Egyptian and Qatari mediators to compel the occupation to implement the terms of the ceasefire agreement as agreed upon encouraged the leaders of the Israeli occupation, led by the Prime Minister of the occupation entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, to continue their attempts to disrupt the agreement.

Although stopping the entry of aid to Gaza and the escalation of the Israeli occupation in the Strip is a coup against previous agreements, it is clear that the mediators are seeking to keep the negotiation channels open without seriously considering the great suffering caused by this siege on the residents of the Strip.

This matter was met with clear rejection by the Palestinian resistance, as was evident in the recent statements of the spokesman for Al-Qassam Brigades, which confirmed the resistance’s readiness to respond to all possibilities and its readiness to return to military confrontation if the occupation does not abide by its commitments contained in the ceasefire agreement and continues to escalate.

In a remarkable development, less than 24 hours after those statements, Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi announced a four-day deadline given to the mediators to work on bringing aid into Gaza. This message carries a clear meaning, which is that Yemen will not abandon its support for the resistance in light of the increasing pressures exerted by the mediating parties on the Palestinian factions with the aim of making concessions.

This is particularly evident with the Hamas delegation heading to Cairo, amid fears that the movement may be exposed to additional pressure as a result of being considered the weakest link in the ongoing negotiations.

According to observers, this announcement is an important step that will strengthen the resistance’s position at the negotiating table, helping it confront attempts to impose new concessions, and emphasizing the option of force as a means of deterring the occupying entity and forcing it to abide by the terms of the ceasefire. Observers also see this announcement as a warning message to mediators about the consequences of their continued response to American dictates and exerting pressure on Hamas, which is showing commitment to implementing the agreement, in contrast to the Israeli side that announced its withdrawal from the agreement.

The four-day deadline announced by Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi carries a clear message that continuing negotiations is no longer possible amid the escalation of the occupation, the siege of Gaza, and the policy of starvation.

If the mediators want an effective role, they must pressure to bring in aid before the deadline expires. This announcement also warns the occupation of the dangers of backtracking on the agreement, as it may return to the naval blockade that Sanaa stopped after the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

The Israeli entity cannot ignore this announcement, especially after its failure with Washington previously to stop Sanaa’s naval operations that completely closed the Red Sea to Israeli navigation, causing huge economic losses, according to the entity’s admission.

Undoubtedly, this decision has put the Israeli entity in a very critical position, as it has only two options: either to commit to implementing the terms of the agreement as they are or to face the consequences of backing down from it.

The Sanaa government, in its statement issued today, Saturday, held the Israeli entity fully responsible for the consequences of resuming naval operations, in addition to all the repercussions resulting from the continued siege on the people of Gaza and the obstruction of the entry of humanitarian aid to them.
