Palestine condemns choice of Fiji for Al-Quds as headquarters of its embassy

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Feb. 19 (YPA) – The Palestinian Foreign Ministry announced that it strongly condemns the decision of the Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka, which it considered a violation of international law and UN resolutions related to the city of Quds (Jerusalem) and the rights of the Palestinian people.

This came after the Fiji government approved the opening of its embassy in occupied Quds, a move welcomed by Tel Aviv and rejected by Palestine.

The Fiji Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained in a statement on the “X” platform that the new embassy will be subject to security assessments in cooperation with the relevant authorities during the construction process.

Previously, Fiji was represented in the Israeli occupation through a consulate general in Tel Aviv, which makes moving the embassy to Al-Quds an elevation of the level of diplomatic representation.
