Israeli occupation forces shoot citizens, Lebanese army center in southern Lebanon

LEBANON, Feb. 19 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation forces opened fire on a park near the Wazzani River, wounding its owner, sources in southern Lebanon reported on Wednesday.

An Israeli occupation patrol also opened fire on the Lebanese army center in “Birket al-Naqqar” south of the town of Shebaa without causing any injuries. The occupation forces combed the area with machine guns from the “radar” site near the town of Shebaa towards the houses.

The Lebanese presidency confirmed yesterday the necessity of the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from the south, renewing its commitment to Resolution 1701 despite the ongoing violations.

The occupation army also withdrew yesterday from most of the border villages in southern Lebanon, with the exception of five points where it intends to remain.
