DHAMAR, Feb. 16 (YPA) – The stations of the Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring and Study Center recorded on Saturday a mild earthquake in Bayda province, measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale, at 7:48 pm.
The head of the center, Eng. Mohammed Hussein Al-Houthi, explained that the monitoring stations recorded the epicenter of the earthquake 10 km northwest of the city of Bayda, and at a depth of 2 km from the surface of the earth.
He pointed out that the depth of the earthquake, which was close to the surface, led to residents feeling it clearly, even though it was a mild earthquake.
