SHABWA, Feb. 15 (YPA) – A violent explosion, on Saturday, rocked one of the camps of the UAE-funded “Shabwa Defense” factions in Shabwa governorate, southeast of Yemen, in an incident that caused panic among the people of the region.
Local sources confirmed that unknown persons detonated an explosive device in the vicinity of the Shabwa Defense Camp in the Lower Markha area, without reporting any human or material losses so far.
The sources explained that the “Shabwa Defense” elements rushed to the site of the explosion to find another explosive device that did not explode in the same place.
The sources suggested that terrorist elements loyal to Islah were behind the incident, especially after the announcement of the death of the Saudi leader in Al-Qaeda, “Abu Muhammad Al-Hudhali Al-Makki”, who was killed last Wednesday in an unknown airstrike in Al-Musaina’a area of Al-Sa’id directorate, south of Ataq.
This comes in the context of the increasing security chaos witnessed in various Shabwa directorates since the beginning of the year 2016.
