Fuel shortage pushes Hadramout’s main power station to brink of shutdown

HADRAMOUT, Feb. 07 (YPA) – Electricity services have declined in the Al-Rayda and Qusayar district in the oil-rich Hadramout Governorate, which is under the control of Saudi-led coalition in eastern Yemen.

Local sources indicated on Friday that the main power station is nearing a complete shutdown because of a lack of fuel.

They clarified that the station’s management has introduced a rotation schedule for power outages, where electricity is cut off for 10 hours and provided for only 2 hours at a time.

Residents urged local authorities to provide the necessary fuel to operate the station and avoid a complete power outage.
