GAZA, Jan. 27 (YPA) – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said that the level of humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip is “unimaginable”, with the collapse of all basic services and the extent of the destruction inflicted on residential, health and educational facilities in the stricken Strip.
UNICEF added in a report that it succeeded in bringing in more than 350 trucks in the first week of the ceasefire in the Strip, and aims to deliver 50 trucks daily in the first phase of the agreement.
The UN organization said that a ceasefire alone will not end the suffering of children in the Gaza Strip, noting that it has accelerated the distribution of supplies and services to the kids there.
The organization also called on the international community to prioritize the needs of children in recovery efforts, ensure that humanitarian agencies receive good funding, and maintain humanity corridors open and safe.
