Water authority in Aden announces imminent disaster in coming hours

ADEN, Jan. 21 (YPA) – The Water Authority in Aden, which is under the control of Saudi-led coalition, has announced an imminent disaster due to the disruption of water supplies to most areas in the coming two days.

In a statement, the authority explained that it is facing a severe crisis in supplying fuel to the generators running the water well pumps.

It confirmed that water will be cut off within the next 48 hours due to the depletion of the necessary fuel to operate the water well pumps.

The authority also mentioned that some of the generators are unable to continue operating due to their urgent need for major maintenance.

The authority called on the pro-coalition government and the Southern  Transitional Council (STC) to intervene urgently to provide enough fuel to ensure the continuation of water and sewage services.
