Leaders in “Southern Resistance” denounce marginalization, systematic exclusion

ADEN, Jan. 20 (YPA) – The UAE has worked to marginalize the leaders of the “Southern Resistance” in Aden and the rest of the southern provinces, and sought the help of other leaders after it took control of the various regions.

A number of “resistance” leaders in Al-Mahfad district of Abyan province, and Khobar Laqmoush area of Shabwa province, demanded that its members be enrolled into the factions affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), and an end to the systematic marginalization process that has affected its leaders over the past years.

They explained in their demands on social media that marginalization would have major repercussions on the ground, and they gave the STC leadership one week to respond to their demands.

The elements and leaders of the so-called Southern Resistance faced systematic marginalization and exclusion, with no integration into the factions formed by the STC according to regional trends, confining their scope to the Dhalea and Lahj provinces.
