Meteorology expects cold weather in various areas of Yemen

SANAA, Jan. 20 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning affirmed on Monday continuing cold weather in several Yemeni provinces.

In its weather bulletin, the center expected that a cold wave would target the various areas of Bayda, Dhamar, Sanaa, Amran and Saada, Hajjah, Maheeit, Rayma, Ibb, Taiz, Dhalea, Lahj and Abyan, as well as Marib, Jawf, Shabwa, Hadramaut and Mahra.

It pointed out that the weather in the coastal areas would be partly cloudy on the southern coasts and the adjacent inland areas, with the possibility of scattered light rain falling on parts of them, while the weather would be clear to partly cloudy on the rest of the coasts, with and the active to moderate winds at the entrance to Bab al-Mandab and the southern Red Sea.

The center renewed its warnings to citizens in the highlands and interior plateaus, especially the elderly, children, patients and workers during the late night and early morning hours, due to the cold weather.
