Abyan tribes hold STC president responsible for Ashal’s kidnapping 

ABYAN, Jan. 19 (YPA) – Tribal sheikhs of Abyan province called on the president of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, to hand over those responsible for the abduction of Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani, who belong to the so-called “counter-terrorism” agency in Aden.

In a statement, the peaceful sit-in committee of Abyan tribesmen in Zinjbar city held Al-Zubaidi entirely accountable for the crimes of murder, kidnapping, and forced disappearances that have occurred in Aden and other southern provinces.

The statement demanded uncovering the fate of the kidnapped Lieutenant Colonel Ashal, seeking justice for him and his family, as well as for those who have been forcibly disappeared and their families from Aden and other provinces.

In their statement, the tribes of Abyan reaffirmed their support for the Al-Jaadana tribe in its peaceful demand to uncover the fate of the abductee. They also voiced their rejection of establishing military camps on Al-Jaadana lands under the pretext of combating terrorism.

The tribes’ statement condemned the unlawful storming of the peaceful sit-in camp and the home of Sheikh Mohammed Sakin, head of the camp committee, by STC factions last week.
