Member in STC factions injured in armed attack in Abyan

ABYAN, Jan. 16 (YPA) – A member of the UAE-backed Transitional Council factions was injured, on Thursday, in an armed attack in Maudiyah district, east of Abyan governorate.

Local sources reported that terrorist elements launched an armed attack targeting one of the sites of the Fourth Battalion of the Second Support and Reinforcement Brigade in the Al-Baqira area in Wadi Omran, which resulted in the injury of one of the battalion’s recruits.

The sources stated that the Transitional Council factions confronted the attack, while the attacking elements managed to escape to an unknown destination.

Since the announcement of Operation “Arrows of the East” in August 2022, many STC factions have been unable to extend their control over Wadi Omran in Maudiyah, due to the armed ambushes they are exposed to from time to time.

The terrorist elements’ ambushes claimed nearly 600 lives and wounded, including prominent leaders in the Transitional Council factions, and destroyed a number of military vehicles with explosive devices.
